Duties are;:

1.    To assist with the annual gas servicing procedure by undertaking phone calls to tenants to arrange appointments, updating spreadsheets and in house systems, and filing CP12 certificates.

2.    To assist with the invoicing process by carrying out weekly data clean up, relogging of invoices as required, inputting of batched invoices, recording of post inspection results, and filing as required.

3.    To ensure that spreadsheets are maintained for lift and fire alarm contractors, and follow on jobs logged as requested.

4.    To support the administration of the Aids and Adaptations Procedure by ensuring responses to requests from tenants and Occupational Therapists are recorded on Academy as soon as possible. Process requests by contacting Housing Officers and Property Services Officers to ensure they carry out home visits if required, or the appropriate job is logged. Maintain spreadsheets and monitor  requests to ensure both tenants and Occupational Therapists are kept informed. Ensure a monthly review of smaller jobs to ensure they have been carried out.

5.    Any other relevant duties as required by the designated manager.

Normal working week is 35 hours, with a finish time of 4.00pm on Fridays., 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday to ensure cover is maintained in the office.

Basic Skills Tutor (Skills for Life) in Covent Garden, London. 14 hours per week.

PURPOSE OF JOB: Provide peripatetic basic skills support to learners in literacy and numeracy (all levels); to provide support to centre-based teaching staff on integrating basic skills teaching into existing and new curricula and to co-ordinate the delivery of key skills across the area to ensure consistency and quality of delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Ensure all the organisation's key skill delivery practices are in accordance with the government’s framework for adult basic skills delivery
·         Implement initial assessment and progression monitoring procedures
·         Provide literacy and numeracy training (from pre-entry to level 2) and support to learners enrolled on key skills programmes
·         Support learners to achieve appropriate qualifications
·         Provide support on a peripatetic basis, i.e., covering a number of learning centres
·         Support other training staff to integrate basic skills delivery into their programmes including assistance with materials development, testing, implementation and review
·         Co-ordinate training activities across centres to ensure a coherent delivery framework

PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
·         Must have a relevant teaching qualification (Cert Ed., PGCE or 7407)
·         Must have a relevant professional qualification at level 3 or above in supporting learners with literacy or numeracy (9483, 9484 or their equivalents)
·         Must have a relevant ICT qualification at level 2 or above (ECDL, Clait Plus, 7261 or equivalent).
·         Must have a proven track record in delivering high quality teaching in basic skills and ICT
·         Must be fully IT literate with experience in Windows 2000/XP, MS Office 2000/XP/2003 and knowledge of Web Page Design.
·         Must have GCSE grade A* to C in maths and English or equivalent
·         Knowledge of working with unemployed learners in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of issues affecting those disadvantaged in the labour market would be desirable.

Candidates suitable for this role will be operating at a senior management role within the capital investment and procurement specialism. Experience working in a social housing environment is also essential. Candidates will have a minimum in HNC in a construction related discipline, have experience in building and property management, experience or involvement in partnership agreements and experience working on large scale investment and modernisation programmes.

To provide the highest quality of service for people with a learning disability
